Het geheim van Mallorca is a true crime podcast series by Dutch news website NU.nl. Crime reporter Joris Peters delves into the case of Carlo Heuvelman, who died in Mallorca under mysterious circumstances. Why are some parts of the story still unclear, and will justice reign one day?
NU.nl has a distinct brand identity with simple colours and simple shapes. But for this podcast, they wanted a cover image that goes beyond the recognizable and displays a more story-driven design. I sketched out several ideas and we ended up with a cover image that conveys tension and mystery, yet does not feel like sensational fiction.
