Sometimes the news can be a little difficult to understand, especially when it's about new technology, complex international issues, vague politics and so on. Animation is a great medium for explaining complicated things in a simplified way, in a way that a written article can not.
For news website NU.nl, I made several animated explainer videos. Below you find a selection of my personal favourites.
I produced all videos from beginning to end. That is: researching the video topic, calling with experts on said topics to check my information, writing the script, drawing and animating, sound effects and publishing the video. The only thing I did not do myself was the voiceover. On average, I made two videos per week (and yes that is insanely fast!)
