A story of an old man who passes away peacefully, just like my grandfather did in 2018.
I cut up an illustration of a skull in several pieces, thus turning it into a comic.
In this comic, an old man goes on a journey to rest. As he is nearing the end of his life path, he ends up in a sort of cave where he reflects on his thoughts.
He then leaves behind everything that is known to him (translated as his walking stick left behind between the teeth of the skull), makes himself comfortable by taking off his shoes and lies down in a dark corner. There, he rests.
Death is often seen as something lurid and sad, but I think death can also express a peaceful beauty.
REQUIEM, wordless poetic comic about an old man on a journey to peaceful death
